Our second Similan liveaboard trip of the season for Big Blue, but the first one for me. Was really excited to get back out diving again after six month hibernating in Khao Lak for the low season. The conditions at sea were still a little rough. It still doesn’t feel like we have settled into the Northeast monsoon just yet. There was swell, choppy seas with plenty of wind and rain showers. Though a little dark underwater it was great to be diving the Similan Islands again.

YAYYYYY, finally some flat seas and calm weather. Day one was turtle-tastic, seeing and being able to ID our hardshell friends via Andaman Turtle Watch. Gracie, named by Alex on the last trip came to say hi, and we think at least another 2 individuals that day, however we are waiting for confirmation.

Trip 4 of the season has returned from land and what an awesome trip we had with wonderful bunch of people. I can honestly say that with such an awesome crew and a lovely bunch of customers it was a real pleasure to lead this trip so thanks again to you all.

Trip 7 was a bit of a similan classic. Super viz, gentle currents and plenty of life from the get go. Koh Bon and Koh Tachai being the highlights of the Similan part of our tour. The Batfish schools at the later mentioned sites were really inquisitive, but the highlight for me was the schooling barracuda.

Thank you guys for joining us on our liveaboard trip 008 of our 2024 – 2025 season. It was a pleasure to have you all on board. Thank you also for being so understanding of the conditions and bearing with us.

Yay the flat seas return. Day One, beautiful vis, gentle currents, and plenty of life on all the dives. West of Eden continues to provide a great start to our trips, hunting trevelly’s being the star of the show.

Trip Ten has returned to land with all customers and staff unscathed (at least physically) and what a fantastic 4 days we had in the Similan Islands. Thanks to our lovely customers and our awesome crew for making this trip a pleasure to have led.

West of Eden continued in good form with hunting trevallies over the boulders providing a nice start to our day. We noticed the water was a bit greener and a few degrees cooler than previous weeks, not to everyone’s liking but its certainly isn’t bad for the reefs and the underwater world.
