Trip 002 Similan Islands

Our second Similan liveaboard trip of the season for Big Blue, but the first one for me. Was really excited to get back out diving again after six month hibernating in Khao Lak for the low season. The conditions at sea were still a little rough. It still doesn’t feel like we have settled into the Northeast monsoon just yet. There was swell, choppy seas with plenty of wind and rain showers. Though a little dark underwater it was great to be diving the Similan Islands again.

We were joined by some nice guests too along with divemasters and DMT’s from Big Blue Diving over in Koh Tao. I was also joined by my two daughters, enjoying the last few days before heading back to school.

The MV Blue Dolphin was as awesome to be aboard as ever. The boat’s looking fine after a month in dry dock, we have a few new crew members, some new dive staff and the food was amazing. Good to be back.

I will be back on board in November, looking forward to it already.
