Similan Liveaboard Trip Trip 004
Trip 4 of the season has returned from land and what an awesome trip we had with wonderful bunch of people. I can honestly say that with such an awesome crew and a lovely bunch of customers it was a real pleasure to lead this trip so thanks again to you all.
Day 1 kicked off with a lovely and steady introduction to diving in the Andaman sea, a quick drop on the Tuna Wreck yielded sightings of Napoleon Wrasse, Sea Snakes and Octopus among other things followed by an epic adventure around the dramatic boulders of Elephant head rock. Another sighting of Napoleon Wrasse, and a Turtle at 3 trees followed by a lovely beach visit and a sunset splash at Aow Khan Gaer to wrap things up on day 1.
Peter took an early lead on the beer tally overnight with Damien upping his game to keep on his heels. An effort which proved to be futile as the trip progressed.
Moving in to day 2 we upped the ante with epic dives on Christmas Point and Koh Bon before we happened up on Tachai in its finest form for 2 dives of absolute mayhem, an enormous (and terrifying) barracuda and some Dog Tooth Tuna that would have rattled the cage of even the hardiest of divers. Heaps of fish, octopus and schooling batfish left us all with huge grins on our faces moving in to night 2 where Damien caught up with Peter in the race for beer king leaving the whole boat on tenterhooks, eagerly anticipating the outcome.
After a very relaxing splash at turtle ledge and some cool sightings including a lovely Hawksbill Turtle, we moved on to the epic Richelieu rock which despite slightly lower visibility did not disappoint. Chris finally got the frog fish he ordered and the carnage was relentless with huge schools of fish leaving us all delighted with the days diving.
On the final day 2 lovely relaxing dives at Koh Bon and we were heading back to land with some awesome memories and lovely new friends.
Congratulations to Ian, Detlef, Valery, Damien and Candice for completing your new certifications we had 2 new advanced divers, and 5 new Nitrox divers by the end of the trip, well done to you guys. And congratulations to Peter for finishing the trip with 37 beers on his tally, a season-best for the boat :P
This trip truly was a pleasure to have been a part of and the goodbyes were just a little harder than usual. We hope to see you all again sometime in the future!
