What You'll Learn

By the end of this course, you’ll be a confident, certified diver able to explore the underwater world to 18 metres. You’ll understand how your equipment works, how to stay safe, and how to move gracefully through the water like you were born to it.

Scuba Skills Update or Refresh

In the post covid world we find ourselves in many divers haven’t dived in a while. A scuba skills update or scuba review is a great way to refresh your memory and regain the confidence in your skill set.

4-30 dives, not dived within 6 months?
30-100 dives, not dived within 12 months?
100 + dives, not dived within 12-18 months?

Then completing a Scuba Skills Update will be greatly beneficial for your trip. Whilst not compulsory, we believe that being honest with yourself and possibly refreshing your skills is a good thing. Even experienced divers who haven’t dived for a while, often are surprised by how much they forget.

Complete a Scuba skills update to be 100% ready for your trip.

How does it work?

Starting with a quiz, not a test. This gives us an opportunity to see what you remember, or more importantly what you may have forgotten. This can be done before you arrive in Khao Lak. After this we can talk over some of the key points before heading to our pool and running through the skills.

The skills included are not only important for your safety, but also for your comfort. This is the main reasons we recommend taking the time to complete a skills review or update.

Advanced Adventurer

This easy-going course can be spread out over your liveaboard. Continue your diving education by improving your basic dive skills and combining other interests with in diving.

You course contains 5 training dives, including Deep Dive (30m) and Underwater Navigation.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox

Joining us on our Similan liveaboard?  This season we will be offering some amazing deals on our SSI Nitrox Diver Speciality.

Why should I choose Nitrox?   We believe becoming a SSI Nitrox Diver enables you to get the best out of your Similan Liveaboard.

As a SSI Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times (NDL’s) and safety margins, plus shorten your surface intervals – so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn the skills you need to prepare and safely plan dives with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen.  Upon completion, you will earn an SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

Open Water Diver*

This globally recognised certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Once you have completed all the skills to a safe, confident level and certification is gained. You will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 18M with an equally or more qualified dive buddy.

Before starting this course you need to be able to swim 200m and float or tread water for 10 minutes unaided.

SSI Marine Ecology Diver

SSI Deep Diver

Take your diving skills to new depths with the SSI Deep Diving Specialty! Through a blend of classroom sessions and open water dives, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills needed to safely explore depths between 18 and 40 meters.

Learn how to plan and manage your deep dives with confidence, utilizing dive computers and gas consumption calculations to maximize your experience. Upon completing the program, you’ll earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification, opening the door to breathtaking deep dive sites worldwide.
