Trip 008 Similan Islands

Thank you guys for joining us on trip 8 of our 24-25 season. It was a pleasure to have you all on board. Thank you also for being so understanding of the conditions and bearing with us.

Conditions aside, we still had some great dives and plenty of laughs on board. West of Eden, Tuna wreck on day one started our trip in some good form. Koh Tachai for our first dive was very active, with huge schools of barracudas and trevelly’s around the dome, making life in the current look particularly easy.

Aow Suthep was a great dive for us all too, calm conditions and the beautiful reef. It was so nice to go back and be able to see the site again after a period of not being able to dive there. Often in these cases we worry about what we may see, but here Aow Suthep looks to be doing ok, with the corals looking well and plenty of life on the reef.

Richelieu, although murky and moody, always provides a fish frenzy. This trip was no exception and even with the current and choppy seas, we were still able to get two dives in there. Listening to people talk about their dives, it’s clear to see that even when not at its most pretty, Richelieu still has plenty of magic to offer.

Shuns photo presentation was an extra treat also, his view on the underwater world is truly unique, and very interesting to hear how he plans and executes his work. A very talented and genuine guy, who has some serious love for his profession. I’ve added the link to his winning photos for you guys here.
