Similan Liveaboard Trip BB2621

Blue Dolphin Liveaboard Trip Report | 15–19 February

Well… where do we start?

Another Blue Dolphin trip in the books, and once again the Andaman Sea decided to show off.

First up, a huge thank you to all our wonderful guests for joining us on this 15–19 February adventure. Special appreciation goes to the Japanese Senior Diving Team. Absolute legends, a pleasure to dive and spend time with.

Underwater Highlights

Giant Manta Rays stole the spotlight on this trip, making graceful appearances at Hideaway Bay and Koh Bon. Slow, elegant fly-bys, multiple passes, and plenty of wide smiles behind regulators — exactly how manta encounters should be.

🐢 At North Point, we were delighted to reunite with the ever-popular Minky the Turtle. Calm, curious, and completely unfazed by our bubbles, Minky continues to be a favourite for good reason.

If you’d like to learn more about her — and support local marine conservation — check out Minky’s profile on the Andaman Turtle Watch Database on our website here:

🐢 Turtle ID Help Needed!

We also logged two turtle sightings at Aow Pakkad, and we’d love your help identifying them properly.
If you took photos or video, please send them over — clear shots of either side of the head, the shell (carapace), or the front legs are perfect.

How do we ID turtles?

We look at facial scale patterns, shell shape and markings, and sometimes even scars or barnacle placement. Each turtle is a little different — just like us, but with better streamlining.

Life On Board

One of our favourite facts from this trip:

Our youngest diver was 14, and our oldest diver was… just a few years older 😉
Proof that diving really is for everyone — whether you’re new to the underwater world or have been exploring it since before dive computers had screens.

Between dives, the vibe on board was relaxed, friendly, and full of laughter — with great food, calm seas, and the occasional debate about which dive was actually the best one.

What’s Next?

Our early bird promo for next season is now live, and spaces are already filling up fast. If this trip sounds like your kind of adventure, now’s the time to lock it in.

Big love from Boots and the Big Blue Team 💙🐬
Until next time , thanks and happy bubbles!
