Sorry it has taken a while for this Blog. But we couldn’t post this without the excellent Manta Ray photos taken by one of our guest Instructors. Thank you so much for the Photos.  There were at least 5 Manta Ray Sightings on only our third trip of the Season! We had a Full Charter from Argentina on our Similan Liveaboard. The trip didn’t run to its usual schedule but it was amazing none the less!

Manta Rays Galore!

16/11/14 we saw 1 Manta Ray on our Sunset Dive at Koh Tachai. 17/11/14 there were 3 Manta Rays on the morning Dive also at Koh Tachai. 18/11/14 there was one more Manta Ray at Koh Bon! 5 Manta Ray sightings spread over 3 days. We usually tell people that they start appearing later on in the Season around the Similan Islands. However this year we have seen them on all of our first three Similan Liveaboard trips. And we though last year was good!

Thank you to the Instructor that took the photos above. We are not sure exactly why, but there seem to be much more Manta Rays around compared to November 2013 and many of the previous years. We may not know why, but we are definitely not complaining. And it is not just our Similan Liveaboard that is spotting them. Our Similan Daytrips are spotting just as many! Lets hope they stay here all year…

Full Similan Liveaboard Charter from Argentina

One of the best ways to see the Similan Islands would be to group up with all your friends and rent a whole Similan Liveaboard for yourselves. This week, an Argentinian Scuba Diving club did exactly that. It was a fun one!

‘Ceviche’ for everyone

One of the big advantages of chartering a Similan Liveaboard is that you can make up a Schedule that suits your Scuba Diving needs. If you want to move to some of the more famous dive sites earlier in the trip; you can. If you want to spend more time on the beach; you can. If you want to ask one of the cooks for a raw fish and some limes to make an Argentinian dish called ‘Ceviche’; you also can. As you have probably guessed, this trip we did all those things. Everybody had a great time and the Diving was amazing. Soif you have enough Scuba Diving Buddies then come and Charter your own Similan Liveaboard!

Beach Trip On Koh Tachai

On Day 3 of the trip (17/11/14) we started the day off with 3 Manta Rays at Koh Tachai. Pretty good start to a day I think. So at that point everyone decided to skip the next dive and spend the morning relaxing on Koh Tachai beach. It was a good time of day to go. Another advantage of joining a Similan Liveaboard is getting to visit the Islands before all the Speedboats arrive. This day we had our own private beach on Koh Tachai.

There are plenty of things to do on the beach. You could fashion yourself a new haircut. You could search for some of Koh Tachai’s many Chicken crabs. Or you could just go for a stroll on the white sand and even take a detour into the jungle paths inside the Island. After our beach trip we then cruised up to Richelieu Rock for 2 more dives. Finally, finished the day off with a few cool beers to watch the sunset. That was a pretty memorable day and part of an excellent trip.

Thanks to everyone that joined us. We hope you had a great time. Please leave us a comment below to let us know what you thought.
