Similan Liveaboard Trip BB2507
Our late-November adventure aboard the MV Blue Dolphin turned out to be a memorable one—not just for diving. While the weather had plans of its own, we’re incredibly grateful to you all for embracing the journey with such understanding.
We began with two classic Similan dives: West of Eden and Hideaway Bay. Both delivered exactly what we hope for at the start of a trip—clear water, vibrant reef life and that unmistakable Similan magic that sets the tone for the days ahead.
Not long after, the weather shifted and we were forced to adapt our original schedule. Even so, we pushed on and still made it to Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Koh Bon. Conditions were certainly against us at times, but the diving proved worth the effort.
The journey up to Koh Tachai was a particularly bumpy ride, but the reward beneath the waves made everything worthwhile. Tachai Dome was absolutely alive—packed with fish, and full of energy as predators hunted through the schools. A truly electrifying dive.
On the morning of Day 3 we treated ourselves to Aow Suthep, where stunning hard corals shone in the soft light. From there we continued on to Richelieu Rock. Although the visibility was far from ideal, the rock revealed its secrets to those willing to slow down and look more closely. With a bit of patience we uncovered plenty of life, including a generous scattering of small critters and colourful nudibranchs—proof that Richelieu always has something special to offer.
A huge thank you to you all for your patience and positivity throughout the trip. Challenging conditions are never ideal, but your cooperation made all the difference.
A Big Blue congratulations as well to Caitlin and Julias on earning their SSI Nitrox Diver certifications—fantastic achievements despite the rolling seas!
We’d be delighted to welcome each of you back on board for future adventures, hopefully under blue high-season skies, calm water and plenty of sunshine. Until then, thank you again for joining us—and for making this trip one to remember.
Safe travels and happy bubbles!
