Blue Dolphin Kicks Off the Season in Style! ????

What a fantastic start to the season aboard the MV Blue Dolphin! A huge thank you to all our amazing guests who joined us for our first Similan & Surin liveaboard trip of the season — we loved being back out in the parks and the diving plus the time on board made it an unforgettable few days out on the Andaman Sea.

We couldn’t have asked for better conditions to kick things off: clear blue water, calm seas and marine life that reminded us exactly why we love these islands so much. The highlight of the trip was Richelieu Rock, where we enjoyed three absolutely stunning dives — bursting with colour, life, and energy. From swirling schools of snapper to curious cuttlefish and the occasional pelagic visitor, it was Richelieu at its very best!

But the excitement didn’t stop there. During our dives at Aow Pakkad in the Surin National Park, our team made a special discovery — a newly identified sea turtle, now added to the Andaman Turtle Watch database!

This sighting is the 7th unique sighting at Aow Pakkad, 5 of which are Big Blue turtles. Aow Pakkad boasts 19 sightings of sea turtles, 17 of which were sighted by team Big Blue.

It’s always an incredible feeling to contribute to marine research and conservation, and we’re thrilled to be part of documenting the turtle population in our parks and look forward to hopefully many more sightings.

A shout out as well to Eve from Andaman Turtle Watch, who continues to lead inspiring work in protecting and studying these beautiful creatures. It’s a privilege to collaborate and share these discoveries together.
