Technical Dive Master

Alex is a SSI Divemaster and TDI Technical Divemaster. As well as leading recreational dives on our liveaboard, he can lead the following technical dives:

  • Sidemount
  • Advanced Wreck
  • Rebreather (Pelagian)

Alex is also one of Big Blue Khao Lak’s Scuba Pro Level 1 & 2 Technicians.

About Alex
Originally from Leeds in northern England. Alex is a tech divemaster and rebreather diver with a strong understanding of CCR diving and decompression theory. He’s passionate about the technical side of diving and always happy to chat about gear, gases, or how to make the most of your bottom time. He’s great at mixing this mindset and approach into our recreational dive setting.
Alex is also involved in Big Blue’s conservation efforts and takes pride in helping protect the marine environments he loves exploring.

Practical , knowledgeable, and safety-focused, Alex brings a calm and confident presence to every dive. Whether he’s assisting on tech courses, guiding fun dives, or supporting rebreather divers, you’ll find him approachable, helpful, and always keen to share. He’s especially passionate about marine life—just ask him about boxfish! (He’s a bit obsessed.) With Alex, you’re in good hands for a dive that’s safe, fun, and full of fish facts.

What a way to finish the season…

What a fantastic few days we’ve just had exploring the Similan and Surin National Parks aboard MV Blue Dolphin. With calm seas, great visibility, and an abundance of marine life, this trip really showcased the parks at their very best as the season winds down.

We began the trip in the Similan Islands with excellent conditions and immediately impressive marine life density. The sites were extremely “fishy,” with large schools present throughout the dives. Green turtles were a constant highlight…
