About This Photo
This photo was taken by Takeshi Omura on board MV Chaba. Obviously not the first turtle we’ve seen and we will be back combing through years of data, however since this fledgling idea sprung to life this is now our first turtle entry from Koh Tao, hence naming it Tao One.
The turtle was sighted at Lighthouse Bay, which is a popular choice for later dives as its sheltered nature makes it a good location for diving with generally good visibility and minimal current.
Our aim with these sort of images is to build, study and record an accurate representation of our dive sites turtle population the same way we are doing with Andaman Turtle Watch on the west coast of Thailand.
