About Steve
Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, England, Steve Boot has been a dedicated part of the Big Blue team since 2015, stepping into the role of trip leader in 2018. His journey to the sea began at age 17, when he left home for Cornwall and later the Isles of Scilly—places that sparked his deep connection with the ocean. Whether on, in, or under the water, it’s where Steve feels most at home. A committed conservationist, he’s passionate about safeguarding the oceans and the marine life that call it home—from majestic manta rays and sea turtles to the delicate coral reefs. Safety-minded and professional, Steve also prides himself on running a safe and environmentally responsible operation across all three of Big Blue’s boats, with a strong focus on teaching safe diving practices for all divers and with minimal effect to marine life.
Diving with Steve
Steve thrives underwater and loves nothing more than exploring and observing the marine world. He’s always happy to chat about what you’ve seen on your dives, share insights into the Similan and Surin National Parks, and offer his extensive knowledge of local dive sites. His attitude is that every dive is a chance to learn, discover, and grow in appreciation for the ocean. With Steve, you’ll not only enjoy the beauty of diving—you’ll do so with safety, respect, and conservation in mind.
