Similan Liveaboard Trip BB2614

What an unforgettable cruise aboard our Similan liveaboard MV Blue Dolphin! We welcomed back some familiar faces and said hello to a few new ones too, always a great way to start a trip.

From the very first day, the atmosphere on board was full of laughter, easy conversations, and that special kind of banter that only happens when a great group of people come together at sea.

Between dives, meals, and sunsets, the boat was buzzing with stories, jokes, and shared excitement about what we’d just seen underwater.

The Similan diving truly delivered. Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, and Koh Bon were all on top form, treating us to stunning visibility, healthy reefs, and plenty of action.

A real highlight was the guitar shark spotted at Tachai Pinnacle — a rare and magical encounter. An absolute treat for everyone in the water. Despite the name, it’s actually a type of ray, not a true shark, with that cool in-between look and those beautiful white spots that help it blend into the sand.

They can grow seriously big and are sadly critically endangered, so seeing one cruising calmly past us was one of those rare, goosebump-type dive moments you should never forget..

Even more fascinating, they are bottom-dwellers that rely on camouflage to ambush prey, making sightings like this extra special. Moments like these are why we dive right?

Octopus lovers were also spoiled on this Similan liveaboard, with many octopus sightings throughout the cruise. The standout moment?

Two octopus mating at Koh Bon, a truly beautiful, memorising and intimate underwater scene that few divers ever get to witness on Similan diving trips. Watching this natural behaviour unfold was something very special..,

Above the surface, the vibe was just as good — relaxed, friendly, and full of smiles. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our guests for being part of such a fantastic trip and for helping create such a positive atmosphere on board. And a very special thank you to Molly for the beautiful painted thank-you card — we will absolutely cherish it and make sure it’s framed with pride.

We hope to see you all again soon, whether it’s in Koh Tao or back with us here in Khao Lak for another adventure aboard the Blue Dolphin. For those of you that asked for info i’ll be in touch soon.

Big love from Boots and The Blue Dolphin team ????????
