Similan Liveaboard Trip Trip 006
I’m back on our Similan liveaboard for our sixth trip of the season, my first with some decent weather. The Similans are looking glorious, bathed in sunshine, the turquoise water gleaming.
First thing I noticed underwater is how the dive sites are teaming with life this season. Nothing out of the ordinary, just an increase in the quantity of reef fish. Lots of colour, lots of productivity and pretty decent visibility. With the full moon we were expecting some stronger currents but the diving was easy on the first day with Weat of Eden and Elephant Head Rock on fine form. Three Trees in the afternoon was a nice drift dive.
The current did pick-up for Christmas Point on the second day but that was the only notable tougher dive. The strong currents didn’t carry over to Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, we just had great dives with easy conditions. Koh Tachai was brilliant as usual with activity underwater increasing for our sunset dive. After a relaxing morning dive on day three at the Surin Islands is was off to Richelieu. Visibility was exceptional at Richelieu with the usual high productivity underwater.
Two dives at Koh Bon rounded off the trip, at the Ridge and then the Pinnacle. Really like ending our Similan liveaboard trips at the Pinnacle. It’s usually nice and quiet there for dive two. With lots of nice people aboard it was a super nice trip and I’m already looking forward to getting back on the boat again. Maybe a few Similan day trips in between until then.
Thanks to everyone who joined us, Ric and Big Blue Team out.
