About Ric
Ric Parker, from Blackpool, England has been running Myanmar and Similan Liveaboards since 2005, working on various vessels before joining Big Blue in 2009. As well as extensive knowledge of the Similan Islands National Park and Richelieu Rock, he is also considered one of the leading authorities on diving the more remote Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar.
Diving With Ric
One of Ric’s main passions is diving with Giant manta rays which are encountered at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai each season between January and April. As an active volunteer and manager of the Marine Megafauna Foundation’s Manta Ray Program, he has plenty of interesting facts about local Manta populations and regularly holds Manta presentations and photographic Manta identification workshops on board MV Blue Dolphin.
