Similan Liveaboard Trip BB026
Trip 26 has returned to land and what an epic adventure we had with what must be a record number of turtle sightings some awesome shark action and of course lovely company.
After a lost bag delayed departure from the pier we cruised out to the SImilan Islands just in time to start the day of diving and we were treated to five turtle individuals during the course of the day. West of Eden, Hideaway Bay and Three Trees gave us the gift of current but plenty of fish to boot, and a Napoleon wrasse spotted and more turtles. Turtle Rock lived up to its name too with yet another turtle, and a Napoleon wrasse.
Day two kicked off with a great start and a shovel nosed ray and a Jenkins whip-ray sighting at North Point, followed by a lovely pit stop at Koh Bon before hitting Tachai for some epic hunting action. We devoured the delicious ribs and headed off to Surin ready to smash Richelieu.
Despite a little surface chop Richelieu was its usual mayhem with two dives including a zebra Eel, seahorse and ornate Ghost pipefish. Dive four of the day gave us some challenges with a storm coming in and making for a very hairy re-boarding to the boat. We managed to get away and put the wind to our tails and headed back to Koh Bon after an epic day.
The final two dives were a great way to round up the trip, my favourite sightings being a fantastic gathering of squat shrimp in the bay, some sea snakes, and a Maldivian sponge snail too!
And with that we headed back to Thap Lamu!
Congratulations again to the new Advanced Adventurer and Nitrox divers, keep diving and keep us abreast of your diving adventures.
Thanks again to all the crew for making it all happen and to you our lovely customers it was a pleasure to see old friends again and to meet new ones. It was a pleasure to have led this trip and you’re all welcome back any time!
