Similan Liveaboard Trip 019
Trip 19 has returned to land and what a fantastic time we had with an awesome bunch of humans on board and we made friends with countless fish and sea creatures.
After an unusually smooth departure day we set off from Thap Lamu with calm seas and excellent visibility in store.
Day one started with a Hawksbill Turtle sighting at West of Eden, followed by a couple of cool dives at Hideaway Bay and Three Trees featuring sea snakes and Barracudas. And a chill (for some) night dive at Three Rocks wrapped up a great intro to the trip.
Christmas Point was the first stop on day two and started with some epic hunting action in the channel from the Emperor fish, then we headed north to Koh Bon where we found the rare Zebra Moray Eel out hunting, along with Sam finding his frogfish in the bay. Tachai was its usual wonder of mayhem with lots of hunting action and big hunting fish. We were treated to an epic sunset and a smooth ride up to the Moken Village where we moored up for the night.
A Black Tip reef shark was the feature of Aow Pakkad before we headed out to Richelieu for what I can honestly say were some of the best dives I’ve ever done on Richelieu. We managed to avoid the crowds and see it in all its glory with excellent visibility and some mesmerising fish action. There was a seahorse, lots of Mantis Shrimps, teems of barracuda and the unforgettable school of Emperor fish and trevally mobbing us at every turn.
After a night of lots of laughs and some terrible fish drawings on the board we dropped on Koh Bon Pinnacle to visit the barracudas and a revisit to the frogfish to wrap up the diving for the trip.
Congratulations to the new advanced divers on the trip, and to those who learned Nitrox while on board.
And finally I’d like to thank you wonderful guests for making this trip a genuine pleasure to lead. Please stay in touch we love to hear about all our customers diving adventures and we hope to meet you all again soon!
