A little bit about me
In my previous life I was a Hospitality professional doing almost every job from pot-washer, to restaurant manager at one of the UK’s best hotels. The best thing about my previous career was it allowed me the opportunity to pick up work easily on my extensive travels. It was whilst travelling that I fell in love with diving. Completing my open water course in Thailand back in 2006 proved to be every bit the life changing experience I hoped it would be and I was lucky enough to be able to visit some fantastic dive sites around SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. It took me until 2011 to begin my divemaster training and embark upon a career in the industry.
Since then I have been fortunate enough to do what I love for a living, spending 9 months as a working divemaster before deciding to become an instructor. I spent the following year almost exclusively teaching – something which I have a real passion for. Now working for Big Blue I get the best of both worlds.
Most of my time is spent guiding guests either on our luxurious live-aboard or on the speedboat, but when we do have new divers who want to learn or divers who want to go to the next level – it’s usually me that gets the call.
My hopes and dreams for the future are purely and simply to keep diving, to keep teaching and to continue to share my love of the ocean.
