Liveaboard to the Similan Islands

If you’re looking to do the most amount of diving in the shortest time, then a Liveaboard is the best way to see the dive sites of the Similan and Surin Islands. Imagine waking up to look out your window at a pristine empty beach. Then spending your days diving world class divesites and enjoying long surface intervals filled with fun and relaxation, while at nights dining on first class meals. Welcome to liveaboard diving.

Liveaboard diving is one of the most enjoyable and cost-effective ways to get in a lot of dives. Let me give you an example.

Our popular day-trips to the Similans start at 8:30 am and include 2 dives and an hour lunch on the beach, then return at 4:00pm. It's an exciting day and a great way to see the Similans if you're limited on time. At 5600b, it's the lowest cost way to dive the Similans.

However, if you look at per-dive value, the 14-dive Pawara trip comes in at 2100b per dive, which is much less than the cost of day trip diving. If you factor in that you have your room and food included, then liveaboard diving is the only way to go if you have 4 days. Add to this, the extra time you can spend on the beach, or on the sun deck, and that you can do night dives, and you'll see that there is no better way to dive.

Big Blue Diving Khao Lak operates the M/V Pawara, a luxury liveaboard making 4-day / 4-night tours around the Similan and Surin islands from November 1st to April 30th.
